A RESOLUTION | Honoring the Anna High School girls basketball team on winning the 2011 Division III State Championship. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Anna High School girls basketball team as the 2011 Division III State Champion; and |
| WHEREAS, Each member of the Anna High School girls basketball team is an excellent young athlete, and Coach Jack Billing has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding this squad to victory. This season, the Rockets bested the team from Oak Hill by a score of 50-32 to win this year's Division III State Championship title, and they finished the season with a 27-1 record; and |
| WHEREAS, The Rockets are to be applauded, for throughout their triumphant season, they have epitomized the speed, agility, stamina, and skill that befit top competitors. Their victories over a host of talented opponents underscore the athletic prowess and indomitable spirit of every member of the squad, and it is no surprise that their maturity and determination have gained them so many admirers; and |
| WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. All those who have been involved with the Anna High School girls basketball team are to be commended for their outstanding efforts; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute the Anna High School girls basketball team on its impressive accomplishment and wish the players and coach ongoing success in their future endeavors; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Anna High School girls basketball team. |
