A RESOLUTION | Honoring Al and Barbara Siemer as the recipients of the 2012 National Tocqueville Society Award. |
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Al and Barbara Siemer on receiving the 2012 National Tocqueville Society Award from United Way Worldwide; and |
WHEREAS, The highest honor presented by the Tocqueville Society, the National Tocqueville Society Award recognizes extraordinary leadership in philanthropy, and this prestigious honor is a fitting tribute to Al and Barbara Siemer. Since 2003, they have helped families with financial difficulties stay in their homes and keep their children in school, and they established the Siemer Institute for Family Stability in 2011 to fund stability programs at United Way organizations across the United States; and |
WHEREAS, Al and Barbara Siemer are truly a remarkable couple, for they have combined humanitarian concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a dynamic force in the State of Ohio. Through their decisive leadership, they have distinguished themselves as conscientious and hard-working Ohioans, and we are certain that they will continue to display the same unwavering dedication to service and achievement for which they have become known; and |
WHEREAS, Willingly giving of their time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was required or expected, Al and Barbara Siemer have striven to better the world around them. Through their generous contributions, they have earned the respect and esteem of all who know them, and they are deserving of high praise. We are proud to note that it is through the unceasing efforts of people such as these that Ohio has gained a reputation as a state whose residents are responsive to the diverse needs of their communities; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Al and Barbara Siemer on their recent accolade and salute them as two of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Al and Barbara Siemer. |
