A RESOLUTION | Honoring Elizabeth Hankins as a 2013 Yale Distinguished Music Educator. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Elizabeth Hankins on being named a 2013 Distinguished Music Educator by Yale University; and |
| WHEREAS, The Distinguished Music Educator Award has been accorded to Elizabeth Hankins for her accomplishments and vision as a public music teacher, and she was one of only fifty music educators from across the country selected for this prestigious honor. The orchestra director at Lakewood High School, as well as the founding director of The Lakewood Project, she has demonstrated remarkable dedication, energy, and enthusiasm in helping her students reach their full potential, and by presenting lessons in an interesting and comprehensible manner, she has consistently inspired them to excel; and |
| WHEREAS, Over the years, Elizabeth Hankins has made many significant contributions to improving the quality of life in our society. Through her decisive leadership and unfaltering dedication to service, she has certainly distinguished herself as a conscientious and hard-working Ohioan; and |
| WHEREAS, Throughout her career in the field of education, Elizabeth Hankins has helped countless students develop their musical skills. Willingly giving of her time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was required or expected, she has earned the respect and gratitude of her colleagues, her community, and, most importantly, her students for her genuine love of teaching, and she is truly deserving of high praise; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Elizabeth Hankins for outstanding achievement and salute her as one of Ohio's finest educators; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Elizabeth Hankins. |
