A RESOLUTION
Honoring Alex Falk as the 2013 Daktronics NCAA Division II Ron Lenz Player of the Year.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Alex Falk on being named the 2013 Daktronics National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II Ron Lenz Player of the Year in men's basketball; and

       WHEREAS,  A senior at West Liberty University, Alex Falk has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in basketball, and as a result, he averaged 21.2 points and 3.1 steals per game and led the Hilltoppers to the NCAA Division II semifinals, their third consecutive berth in the Elite Eight, and a 34-2 record this season. During his 136-game career, he has become a program leader in many statistical categories, and his team has compiled an impressive 127-9 mark during that time; and 

       WHEREAS,  Alex Falk's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his coaches, his school, and his hometown. His unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Tournament Most Valuable Player, Daktronics NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Player of the Year, and Daktronics NCAA Division II Ron Lenz Player of the Year honors, and he is certainly worthy of high praise; and

       WHEREAS,  With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Alex Falk on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience he has gained through his participation in basketball will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Alex Falk on his national distinction and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Alex Falk.
