A RESOLUTION | Honoring the Bishop Watterson High School boys basketball team on winning the 2013 Division II State Championship. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Bishop Watterson High School boys basketball team as the 2013 Division II State Champion; and |
| WHEREAS, Each member of the Bishop Watterson High School boys basketball team is an excellent young athlete, and Coach Vince Lombardo has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding this squad to victory. This season, the Eagles bested the team from St. Vincent-St. Mary by a score of 55-52 to win this year's Division II State Championship title and finished the season with a 28-1 record; and |
| WHEREAS, The Eagles are to be applauded, for throughout their triumphant season, they have epitomized the speed, agility, stamina, and skill that befit top competitors. Their victories over a host of talented opponents underscore the athletic prowess and indomitable spirit of every member of the squad, and it is no surprise that their maturity and determination have gained them so many admirers; and |
| WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. All those who have been involved with the Bishop Watterson High School boys basketball team are to be commended for their outstanding efforts; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute the Bishop Watterson High School boys basketball team on its impressive accomplishment and wish the players and coach ongoing success in their future endeavors; and be it further |
