A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Girard High School RoboCats as the 2013 Queen City FIRST Robotics Regional Champions and the 2013 Washington, DC FIRST Robotics Regional Champions.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Girard FIRST Robotics team, the RoboCats, on winning first place at the 2013 Queen City FIRST Robotics Regional and the Washington, DC FIRST Robotics Regional; and

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Girard FIRST Robotics team, the RoboCats, are remarkable young individuals, combining talent and competitive spirit with exceptional knowledge to establish themselves as truly exemplary students. With admirable dedication, the members designed, engineered, and programmed a robot to complete assigned tasks within a time limit, and as a result, they won first place at both this year's Queen City FIRST Robotics Regional and at the Washington, DC FIRST Robotics Regional, and the Motorola Quality Award and the Innovation in Control Award, and qualified for the FIRST Robotics World Championships, where they placed in the top twenty-four of their division; and 

       WHEREAS,  Through practice and preparation, the members of the Girard FIRST Robotics team have displayed determination and motivation of which they can be proud, and the squad's efforts are truly admirable. The enthusiasm and expertise they have shown in all of their endeavors have earned them the respect and admiration of many; and

       WHEREAS,  The accomplishments of the Girard FIRST Robotics team are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on the members but also on their families, on their community, and on their advisors, coaches, and mentors, Judy Barber, Tyler Biddle, Michelle Coggins, Rachel Coggins, Donnell Conner, Emil David, Nick DiFabio, Ashraf Hadi, Joseph Jeswald, Denny McBride, Mark Plant, Randy Suchanek, and Mark Walker. We are certain that the maturity and experience the students have gained through their participation in the FIRST Robotics competitions will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Girard High School FIRST Robotics team, the RoboCats, on its success and salute its members and coaches as fine Ohioans; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Girard FIRST Robotics team.
