A RESOLUTION
Honoring Ayden Richmond on winning the 2013 Great Lakes Region 4 Elks Hoop Shoot Championship.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Ayden Richmond as the 2013 Elks Hoop Shoot Great Lakes Region 4 Champion in the boys 8 to 9 age group; and

       WHEREAS,  This achievement is truly noteworthy, for Ayden Richmond has clearly demonstrated his talent and perseverance, as well as his mental and physical fortitude as a free throw shooter. The winner of this year's Great Lakes Region 4 Elks Hoop Shoot Championship in the boys 8 to 9 age group with 24 of 25 free throws, he also received the Bob Bartolameolli Top Shooter Award for being the top-scoring boy overall, and he advanced to the National Hoop Shoot Competition, where he placed seventh. Indeed, he has exemplified the courage, determination, and innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship that are essential for success both in and out of the sports world; and 

       WHEREAS,  In displaying such exceptional prowess as a competitor in the Elks Hoop Shoot competitions, Ayden Richmond has set an example worthy of emulation. A third-grade student at Cork Elementary School, he has risen to the occasion, maintaining the morale, composure, and tenacity that have earned him many admirers; and

       WHEREAS,  In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual effort, athletics has become a valuable tool. With competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Ayden Richmond; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Ayden Richmond on his achievements and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Ayden Richmond.
