A RESOLUTION | Honoring Jacob Dumford as a 2013 Division I State Track and Field Champion. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Jacob Dumford on winning 2013 Division I State championships in the 1,600-meter run and the 3,200-meter relay; and |
| WHEREAS, A senior at Westerville North High School, Jacob Dumford has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in track and field, and as a result, he won first place in the 1,600-meter run with a stadium-record time of 4:08.21 and third place in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:52.85 and helped the 3,200-meter relay team win first place with a time of 7:42.47 at this year's Division I State Meet; and |
| WHEREAS, Jacob Dumford's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his coach, his school, and his community. His unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him the respect and esteem of many, and he is certainly worthy of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Jacob Dumford on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience he has gained through his participation in track and field will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Jacob Dumford on his personal success and salute him as one of Ohio's finest young citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Jacob Dumford. |
