A RESOLUTION | Honoring Chancellor Jim Petro on his retirement from the Ohio Board of Regents. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Jim Petro on the memorable occasion of his retirement as chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents; and |
| WHEREAS, Jim Petro is a remarkable individual, for he has combined civic concern and dedication with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in the State of Ohio. Among his endeavors, he practiced law privately with various firms and served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Franklin County, an assistant law director for the City of Cleveland, the prosecutor, law director, and a member of council for the City of Rocky River, a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, a commissioner for Cuyahoga County, and the auditor and attorney general for the State of Ohio before being appointed chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents in 2011; and |
| WHEREAS, Over the years, Jim Petro has clearly shown the potential of each person to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society. In addition to his career, he has been active with several professional and community organizations, and he has received numerous honors and awards. Always sincere and energetic in his approach to his work, he has distinguished himself as a conscientious and responsible Ohioan, and he is truly deserving of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, We are proud to note that it is through the unsurpassed efforts and deep commitment of diligent people such as Jim Petro that the State of Ohio continues to grow and prosper. Indeed, he has striven to serve his fellow citizens to the best of his ability, and we applaud him on his fine work; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Jim Petro on his years of state service and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Jim Petro. |
