A RESOLUTION | Honoring Sydney Leiher on winning the 2013 Division I State Championship in the 1,600-meter run. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Sydney Leiher as the 2013 Division I State Champion in the 1,600-meter run; and |
| WHEREAS, A diligent and capable individual, Sydney Leiher is deserving of recognition for her exemplary accomplishments as a senior member of the Beavercreek High School girls track and field team. An exceptional athlete, she won first place in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:51.23 at this year's Division I State Meet, securing her second consecutive state title in that event, and her noteworthy record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark for others to emulate; and |
| WHEREAS, Through her participation in sports, Sydney Leiher has learned important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her throughout her life. Through her outstanding efforts, she has inspired countless individuals to excel in various areas of endeavor, and she has set an example worthy of the highest praise; and |
| WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. With athletics playing such an important part in the development of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to such a tremendous athlete as Sydney Leiher; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Sydney Leiher on her Division I State Championship and salute her as one of Ohio's finest young citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Sydney Leiher. |
