A RESOLUTION | Honoring Joseph Lavelle as the 2013 Ohio Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Joseph Lavelle on being named the 2013 Ohio Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources; and |
| WHEREAS, This prestigious distinction is a fitting tribute to Joseph Lavelle for the various forestry management practices, including wildlife food plots, selective tree harvesting, and grapevine and invasive species control, he has implemented on his property, Stonewall Farm, a family forest certified by the American Tree Farm System that has been in his family for six generations. He is deserving of praise, for he has combined concern and dedication with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in Athens County; and |
| WHEREAS, Demonstrating a sincere concern for the future of the area, Joseph Lavelle has given back to the community far more than he has gleaned, and his selfless endeavors stand as the hallmark of responsible citizenship. Indeed, it is through the unsurpassed efforts and consistent support of conscientious individuals such as he that our state has remained responsive to the diverse needs of our environment; and |
| WHEREAS, Preserving our natural surroundings has never been more important to our well-being than it is today, and Joseph Lavelle has clearly had a positive impact on the quality of life in our society. We are certain that in the years to come, he will continue to display the same unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship for which he has become known; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Joseph Lavelle as Ohio Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Joseph Lavelle. |
