A RESOLUTION | Honoring Debra J. McDonald on being named the 2013-2014 Ohio Teacher of the Year. |
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Debra J. McDonald on being selected as the 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year by the Ohio Department of Education; and |
WHEREAS, Motivated by a deep concern for our youth, Debra McDonald has brought insight, expertise, and ability to the important task of guiding young minds. She is an early childhood education instructor at the Wayne County Schools Career Center, where she also coordinates the on-campus preschool to offer real experience for students who wish to pursue careers in teaching, oversees the district's Resident Educator and Family Career Community Leaders of America and programs, serves as the lead mentor, and chairs the Employee Performance Evaluation Committee, and she has been involved with the Ohio Educator Standards Board, the National Association for Career Technical Education, the Wayne County Joint Vocational School District Education Association, and the National and Wayne associations for the education of young children; and |
WHEREAS, A skillful and patient instructor, Debra McDonald has encouraged numerous students to fully develop their knowledge and interests. Understandably, her spirited intellect and painstaking approach to her work have won her a host of admirers; and |
WHEREAS, Over the years, Debra McDonald has not only taught many young people, but she has also established a solid foundation for succeeding generations. Her unstinting contributions of time, talent, and seemingly inexhaustible energy to students and teachers alike have gained her the appreciation and esteem of everyone with whom she has been associated, and her career stands as a hallmark worthy of emulation; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Debra J. McDonald as Ohio Teacher of the Year for 2013-2014 and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Debra J. McDonald. |
