A RESOLUTION | Honoring Samantha Edwards as a 2013 All-America and All-Ohio soccer player. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Samantha Edwards on receiving 2013 Fall High School Girls All-America honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and 2013 All-Ohio Division I Girls Player of the Year honors from the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association; and |
| WHEREAS, A diligent and capable individual, Samantha Edwards is deserving of recognition for her exemplary accomplishments as a senior member of the Dublin Coffman High School girls soccer team. An exceptional athlete, she was named to the 2013 Fall High School Girls All-America team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and to the 2013 All-Ohio Division I Girls first team as its Player of the Year by the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association, and her noteworthy record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark for others to emulate; and |
| WHEREAS, Through her participation in sports, Samantha Edwards has learned important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her throughout her life. Through her outstanding efforts, she has inspired countless individuals to excel in various areas of endeavor, and she has set an example worthy of the highest praise; and |
| WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. With athletics playing such an important part in the development of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to such a fine athlete as Samantha Edwards; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Samantha Edwards on her recent accolades and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further |
