A RESOLUTION | Honoring Jim Swearingen on receiving the 2014 Distinguished Service Award. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Jim Swearingen on being presented with the 2014 Distinguished Service Award by the Ohio Music Education Association; and |
| WHEREAS, Motivated by a deep concern for arts education, Jim Swearingen has brought insight, expertise, and ability to the important work of guiding young minds. Among his endeavors, he is a music education professor at Capital University, where he has worked since 1987, and a published composer, and he has encouraged many students to develop their knowledge and interests and has instilled within them an appreciation of the importance of learning that will benefit them throughout their lives; and |
| WHEREAS, Over the years, Jim Swearingen has not only taught many individuals but has also established a solid foundation for succeeding generations. His unstinting contributions of time, talent, and seemingly inexhaustible energy to students and teachers alike have earned him the respect and admiration of everyone with whom he has been associated, and his work stands as the hallmark of concerned and responsible citizenship; and |
| WHEREAS, Due to his exceptional efforts, Jim Swearingen has helped to guarantee a high level of success for all projects with which he has been involved, and he has gained the esteem of many. We are proud to note that it is through the unsurpassed commitment of conscientious people such as he that the State of Ohio continues to grow and prosper and remains responsive to the needs of its citizens; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Jim Swearingen on his professional attainment and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Jim Swearingen. |
