A RESOLUTION
Honoring Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Kolcum on his retirement from OSHP.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Kolcum on the occasion of his retirement from the Ohio State Highway Patrol; and

       WHEREAS,  Throughout his distinguished career with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Daniel Kolcum has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to professional excellence and has fulfilled his diverse responsibilities with integrity, sensitivity, and the utmost competence. Commissioned to the Ohio State Highway Patrol in 1977, he served in various roles with the Sandusky, Medina, Canfield, and Toledo posts, the Findlay and Wilmington districts, and the offices of Recruitment and Training and Special Operations, and he completed advanced training through the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville and the U.S. Army War College. Conscientious in performing a wide variety of duties, he has been tireless in his efforts, and he has brought insight and exceptional ability to his important work; and 

       WHEREAS,  Energetic and enthusiastic in his approach to making Ohio a safer place, Daniel Kolcum has gained the esteem and gratitude of his fellow law enforcement officers and area residents for his exemplary commitment to the highest professional standards. With a strong and continuing interest in preserving the law, he has constructively shaped the lives of his co-workers through his example for more than three decades; and

       WHEREAS,  Recognized and respected throughout the state, Daniel Kolcum has never been content to take a passive role in life, and he has received various accolades, including the Health and Physical Fitness and Safe Driving awards. Initiative and dedication have been exemplified in all of his personal and professional endeavors, and he is, indeed, deserving of high praise; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Kolcum on his retirement and wish him ongoing success in all of his future endeavors; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Kolcum.
