A RESOLUTION | Honoring the Mabel G. Freeman Chapter of Mortar Board Senior Honor Society on its Centennial. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Mabel G. Freeman Chapter of Mortar Board Senior Honor Society at The Ohio State University on its One Hundredth Anniversary, celebrated April 4-5, 2014; and |
| WHEREAS, Founded by eight senior women at The Ohio State University in 1914, Mortar Board Senior Honor Society was the first national honor society for senior women, and over the past ten decades, it has expanded to included two hundred thirty chartered collegiate chapters and sixteen active alumni chapters across the United States. The fine reputation that this noteworthy group has gained is a credit to the dedicated individuals who have given willingly of their time, energy, and abilities to make the society a dynamic force in the lives of many; and |
| WHEREAS, Recognition of this prestigious milestone is, indeed, a fitting tribute to the Mabel G. Freeman Chapter of Mortar Board Senior Honor Society, for throughout the last century, it has achieved a praiseworthy record of service to the area. The chapter's accomplishments are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on the organization itself but also on its members, both past and present, and on The Ohio State University; and |
| WHEREAS, The Mabel G. Freeman Chapter of Mortar Board Senior Honor Society has enhanced the quality of life within the surrounding area, and the chapter's generous contributions have earned it the gratitude and respect of the many citizens it has so capably served. We are certain that as this fine endeavor maintains its dedication to service, it will continue in the tradition of excellence that has been the hallmark of Mortar Board Senior Honor Society since its establishment; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Mabel G. Freeman Chapter of Mortar Board Senior Honor Society at The Ohio State University on its One Hundredth Anniversary and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
