A RESOLUTION | Honoring the Ohio Christian University men's basketball team as the 2014 NCCAA Division II Champion. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Ohio Christian University men's basketball team on winning the 2014 National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Ohio Christian University men's basketball team are exemplary athletes, and they have established themselves as a truly exceptional squad. This season, the Trailblazers bested the team from Arlington Baptist College by a score of 91-69 to win this year's National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Championship, their second consecutive national title. The unwavering commitment of the players and coaches has earned them this prestigious distinction, and they are certainly deserving of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, Coach Tony Stockman has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Ohio Christian University men's basketball team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad's outstanding accomplishment. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the members have established themselves as winners, both in and out of athletic competition, and he has earned the respect and admiration of all who know him; and |
| WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable tool. Through their participation in sports, the members of the Ohio Christian University men's basketball team have learned lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, honor the Ohio Christian University men's basketball team as the 2014 National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Champion and applaud all those who have contributed to the success of this fine squad; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Ohio Christian University men's basketball team. |
