A RESOLUTION
Honoring Bob Arn on receiving a Congressional Gold Medal.

WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Bob Arn, a member of the Civilian Air Patrol during World War II, on receiving a Congressional Gold Medal; and

WHEREAS,  Established by Congress in 1776, the Congressional Gold Medal is the nation's highest civilian award authorized by the federal legislature. By recognizing Bob Arn as one of the recipients of this distinction, we extol his outstanding record of patriotism; and

WHEREAS,  As a member of the Civilian Air Patrol and then the U.S. Army Air Force, Bob Arn set aside all personal considerations for the greater good of society during World War II. We take this opportunity to reflect on his dutiful service, and his selfless example will continue to enrich the lives of everyone with whom he is associated; and

WHEREAS,  It is imperative that we openly acknowledge our debt to those who bore our country's standard with courage, dignity, and decency through their military service. In every respect, Bob Arn has behaved in an exemplary manner, and his distinguished record of attainment is likely to impel others both to re-examine their own identities as American citizens and to reflect more conscientiously on our incomparable freedoms and solemn responsibilities; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute Bob Arn for his admirable military service and commend him as a fine Ohioan; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Bob Arn.
