A RESOLUTION | Honoring Cleveland State University on its Fiftieth Anniversary. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Cleveland State University on the memorable occasion of its Fiftieth Anniversary; and |
| WHEREAS, Founded in 1964, Cleveland State University has an enrollment of nearly 18,000 students from across the United States and several foreign countries, and it has established partnerships with such organizations as the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Metropolitan School District and the NASA Glenn Research Center. In addition, CSU has received numerous accolades, including the NorthCoast 99 Award, and it has been ranked among the top two hundred fifty universities by U.S. News and World Report and the top twenty percent of universities in the United States for research and development by the National Science Foundation; and |
| WHEREAS, Colleges and universities provide people of all ages with much more than the basic educational skills, and the instructors and administrators of Cleveland State University have contributed greatly to their students' academic pursuits. Indeed, their efforts are truly worthy of acknowledgement; and |
| WHEREAS, Over the years, this closely knit scholastic community has championed ambitious standards and has encouraged the lofty goals of its members. The remarkable people who currently direct and sustain the university, not only caring for its physical structure but also initiating and supporting its many edifying works and programs, serve those who attend with vision and vigor, proving daily that they understand the importance of perpetuating the virtues of the past, even while embracing the ideals of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Cleveland State University on its Fiftieth Anniversary and extend best wishes for continued prosperity; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Cleveland State University. |
