A RESOLUTION
Honoring Dr. Georgia J. Anetzberger on her induction into the 2013 Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame.

       WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Dr. Georgia J. Anetzberger on being inducted into the Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame, May 24, 2013; and

       WHEREAS, Sponsored annually by the Ohio Department of Aging, the Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame recognizes the exemplary contributions of older adults from across the state, and this prestigious honor is a fitting tribute to Georgia Anetzberger for making a positive difference in her community and across Ohio. Previously holding such posts as vice president for community services for the Benjamin Rose Institute, director of the Western Reserve Geriatric Education Center, executive director of the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging, and supervisor of adult services for the Geauga County Welfare Department, she currently serves as a lecturer for the Cleveland State University Health Care Administration Program, an adjunct assistant professor for the Case Western Reserve University Department of Medicine, and a consultant in private practice, and she helped to craft Ohio's protective services law for adults. The author of more than seventy-five publications about elder abuse, she is also the founder of the Ohio Coalition for Adult Protective Services, the Consortium Against Adult Abuse, and the Greater Cleveland Elder Abuse/Domestic Violence Roundtable and the president of the National Committee for the Prevention of Elder Abuse, and she received the 2005 Rosalie Wolf Memorial Elder Abuse Prevention Award-National Category; and

       WHEREAS, Georgia Anetzberger is deserving of high praise, for she has combined civic concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in adult protection and elder abuse law. Through her unwavering dedication to service, she has certainly proven herself to be a conscientious and hard-working Ohioan; and

       WHEREAS, This distinction is a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on Georgia Anetzberger but also on her family and her community. Over the years, she has earned the respect and admiration of many, and it is through the unceasing efforts of people such as she that Ohio continues to grow and prosper and remains a pleasant place in which to live and work; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Dr. Georgia J. Anetzberger on her personal success and applaud her as one of Ohio's most exceptional citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Dr. Georgia J. Anetzberger.
