A RESOLUTION | Honoring the Columbus Museum of Art on receiving a 2013 National Medal for Museum and Library Service. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Columbus Museum of Art on being named a recipient of the 2013 National Medal for Museum and Library Service by the Institute of Museum and Library Services; and |
| WHEREAS, Since its establishment, the Columbus Museum of Art has experienced tremendous prosperity by providing a valuable service to local residents, schools, and organizations. A remarkable resource for area patrons, this fine museum has demonstrated exemplary commitment and has made many significant contributions to the community, and its dedication to the betterment of life in our society has been clearly evident; and |
| WHEREAS, The noteworthy accomplishments of the Columbus Museum of Art are attributable to the motivation and diligence of its executive director, Nannette V. Maciejunes, and its hard-working staff and volunteers. Their efforts have earned the facility a well-deserved reputation for excellence and have distinguished it as a worthy institution; and |
| WHEREAS, The Columbus Museum of Art is deserving of high praise, for it has become one of the top cultural attractions in Central Ohio. Providing numerous programs, including ARTful Reading, Art of Analysis, and Sparking Imaginations, CMA serves more than thirty counties and partners with such agencies as the Columbus City School District, The Ohio State University Wexner College of Medicine, and the Central Ohio Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, and we are certain that in the years to come, this fine establishment will continue to display the same unwavering commitment to achievement for which it has become known; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Columbus Museum of Art on its outstanding attainment and salute all those who have contributed to its success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Columbus Museum of Art. |
