A RESOLUTION | Honoring the Archbishop Moeller High School football team on winning the 2013 Division I State Championship. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Archbishop Moeller High School football team on placing first in the 2013 Division I State Championship tournament; and |
| WHEREAS, Each member of the Archbishop Moeller High School football team is an excellent young athlete, and Coach John Rodenberg has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding this squad to victory. During the 2013 season, the Crusaders bested the team from Mentor High School by a score of 55-52 to win the Division I State Championship, their second consecutive state crown and their ninth such title in program history, and set records for most points scored by a team, most combined points scored, and most combined total yards in a Division I state final game. The unwavering commitment of the members and their coach has earned them this prestigious distinction, and they are certainly deserving of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Archbishop Moeller High School football team have emerged as winners both in and out of athletic competition. John Rodenberg's skill as a coach is reflected in their outstanding success, and due largely to his tireless efforts, he has earned the respect and admiration of all who know him; and |
| WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable tool. Through their participation in sports, the members of the Archbishop Moeller High School football team have learned lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Archbishop Moeller High School football team as the 2013 Division I State Champion and salute all those who contributed to the success of this fine squad; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Archbishop Moeller High School football team. |
