A RESOLUTION | Honoring Dr. Stanley W. Olson on his One Hundredth Birthday. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Dr. Stanley W. Olson on the memorable occasion of his One Hundredth Birthday, February 10, 2014; and |
| WHEREAS, Stanley Olson's birthday serves as a reminder of the love and affection that his family and friends have for him, and it is also a time when he can reflect on the many and varied events of his life and take pride in his accomplishments and in his contributions to the community. Among his endeavors, he is a U.S. armed forces veteran of World War II and the founding provost of the Northeast Ohio Medical University, and he has served as a medical educator at the Mayo Clinic, the dean of the University of Illinois and Baylor University colleges of medicine, the vice president for academic affairs at Morehouse School of Medicine, and a member of the Association of American Medical Colleges Executive Council; and |
| WHEREAS, Throughout the past one hundred years, Stanley Olson has witnessed from a unique vantage point the dynamic growth that our country has undergone. Certainly, his life has been filled with many richly rewarding experiences, for he has lived through social and technological changes that have had a profound effect on the course of our nation's history and development; and |
| WHEREAS, Willingly sharing his time, energy, and abilities with his family, friends, and neighbors, Stanley Olson has clearly shown the potential of individuals to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society, and he has enriched the lives of everyone who has known him over the years. Diligent and painstaking in all of his endeavors, he has always used his talents to the benefit of those around him, and he is, indeed, deserving of high praise; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Dr. Stanley W. Olson on his One Hundredth Birthday and salute him as a fine Ohioan; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Dr. Stanley W. Olson. |
