A RESOLUTION | To encourage local community emergency response teams
to incorporate training for agricultural
emergencies and disasters in their training
programs.
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
WHEREAS, The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program
helps train people to be better prepared to respond to emergency
situations in their communities; and |
WHEREAS, When emergencies happen, CERT members offer critical
support to first responders by providing immediate assistance to
victims and organizing volunteers at a disaster site.
Additionally, CERT members also can help with nonemergency
projects that improve the safety of their communities; and |
WHEREAS, As urban areas extend more into agricultural areas,
it is critical that CERT members become familiar with responding
to agricultural emergencies and disasters; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th
General Assembly of the State of Ohio, encourage local community
emergency response teams to incorporate training for agricultural
emergencies and disasters in their training programs; and be it
further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate send duly
authenticated copies of this resolution to leaders of the local
Community Emergency Response Teams in Ohio and to the news media
of Ohio. |
