A RESOLUTION | Honoring Velvet Ice Cream on its One Hundredth Anniversary. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Velvet Ice Cream on its Centennial; and |
| WHEREAS, Recognition of this prestigious milestone is a fitting tribute to Velvet Ice Cream, for throughout the past century, it has attained a remarkable record of service. Established by Joseph Dager in the basement of a confectionary in 1914, this fine company built its own manufacturing plant behind that business in the 1930s, and after outgrowing that space, it moved to a new location in 1960. A historic gristmill on the property was restored for use as Velvet's headquarters, becoming the trademark that appears on all of its ice cream packaging today; and |
| WHEREAS, The success of Velvet Ice Cream is a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding reflection not only on the business itself but also on the astute management of the Dager family and on its hard-working employees. Due to their effort and initiative, this respected institution has gained the gratitude and loyalty of many satisfied customers, and they are truly deserving of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, Over the years, Velvet Ice Cream has enhanced the quality of life within the surrounding area. We are certain that as this worthy enterprise maintains its unfaltering dedication to service and achievement, it will continue to prosper and will uphold the tradition of excellence that has long been its hallmark; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Velvet Ice Cream on its One Hundredth Anniversary and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Velvet Ice Cream. |
