A RESOLUTION | Honoring Samantha Murray as the 2014 Division II State Champion in the 800-meter run. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Samantha Murray on winning the 2014 OHSAA Division II State Championship in the 800-meter run; and |
| WHEREAS, A student at Defiance High School, Samantha Murray has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in running, and as a result, she won this year's Division II State Championship title; and |
| WHEREAS, Samantha Murray's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coach, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Samantha Murray on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in track and field will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Samantha Murray on her personal success and salute her as one of Ohio's finest young citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Samantha Murray. |
