A RESOLUTION | Honoring Malia Berkely on being named the 2014 Ohio Ms. Soccer. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Malia Berkely on being recognized as the 2014 Ms. Soccer by the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association; and |
| WHEREAS, This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Malia Berkely has clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her mental and physical fortitude as a junior member of the Badin High School girls soccer team. She helped the Rams secure their second consecutive Division III State title and finish the season with a 20-1-1 record, and she has received numerous accolades, including All-Ohio Division III and All-Greater Catholic League Coed Division first-team honors. She has exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the sports world, including courage, determination, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship; and |
| WHEREAS, In displaying such exceptional prowess, Malia Berkely has earned the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals. Competition in athletics has enabled her to learn much about dedication and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge her exceptional record of achievement; and |
| WHEREAS, Soccer is a sport that requires exceptional stamina and natural ability, and Malia Berkely is to be commended for her commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining her athletic goals, she has consistently exhibited the skill and integrity that are necessary to excel on the field; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Malia Berkely as the 2014 Ohio Ms. Soccer and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Malia Berkely. |
