A BILL
To enact sections 1751.661 and 3923.602 of the
Revised Code to require insurers that provide
coverage for the influenza vaccine to cover a
thimerosal-free influenza
vaccine for children
under
six years of age.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That sections 1751.661 and 3923.602 of the Revised
Code be enacted to read as follows:
Sec. 1751.661. Notwithstanding section 3901.71 of the
Revised Code, any individual or group health insuring corporation
policy, contract, or agreement that provides coverage for
influenza
vaccinations shall provide coverage for a
thimerosal-free influenza vaccination for children under six years
of age who are covered
under the policy, contract, or agreement.
Sec. 3923.602. Notwithstanding section 3901.71 of the
Revised Code, any individual or group policy of sickness and
accident insurance or public employee benefit plan that provides
coverage for influenza vaccinations shall provide coverage for a
thimerosal-free influenza
vaccination for children under six
years of
age who are covered under the policy or plan.
