A BILL
To enact sections 5.2283 and 5.2284 of the Revised
Code to designate May as "Melanoma and Skin Cancer
Detection and Prevention Month" and to designate
April 27 as "Emma 'Grandma' Gatewood Day."
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That sections 5.2283 and 5.2284 of the Revised
Code be enacted to read as follows:
Sec. 5.2283. The month of May is designated as "Melanoma and
Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month."
Sec. 5.2284. The twenty-seventh day of April is designated as
"Emma 'Grandma' Gatewood Day," in honor of the legendary hiker who
was a founder of the buckeye trail, which was declared the
official hiking trail of the state on that day in 1967.
