A BILL
To enact section 5533.041 of the Revised Code to
designate a portion of United States Route 20 and
certain streets in Painesville as the "James A.
Garfield State Historic Corridor."
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That section 5533.041 of the Revised Code be
enacted to read as follows:
Sec. 5533.041. In addition to any other name prescribed in
the Revised Code or otherwise, the following highways and streets
shall be known collectively as the "James A. Garfield State
Historic Corridor":
(A) The portion of the road known as United States route
number twenty, commencing at Cleveland public square in Cuyahoga
county and proceeding in an easterly and then northeasterly
direction to the intersection of that United States route with
watson street in the municipal corporation of Painesville, where
that portion of United States route twenty is known as mentor
avenue;
(B) In the municipal corporation of Painesville, all of the
following streets:
(1) Mentor avenue, which does not carry the designation of
United States route twenty, commencing at the intersection of that
avenue and watson street and proceeding in an northeasterly
direction to the intersection of that avenue and liberty street;
(2) Liberty street, commencing at the intersection of that
street and north park place and proceeding in a southeasterly
direction to the intersection of that street and south park place;
The director of transportation may erect suitable markers
along the highway and streets indicating its name.
