A BILL
To enact section 9.318 of the Revised Code to require
state agencies to purchase only uniforms and other
apparel items that are made with American
textiles, materials, and supplies.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That section 9.318 of the Revised Code be enacted
to read as follows:
Sec. 9.318. (A) As used in this section, "state agency" means
every organized body, office, or agency established by the laws of
the state for the exercise and function of state government.
"State agency" includes any state institution of higher education
as defined in section 3345.011 of the Revised Code.
(B) No state agency shall purchase or otherwise receive any
uniforms or other apparel articles unless the textiles, materials,
and supplies used in the uniforms or other apparel articles are
entirely grown, produced, or manufactured in the United States.
