A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
| To request that all of the members of the 128th
General Assembly of the state of Ohio support the
public option as part of national health care
reform.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO (THE SENATE CONCURRING):
WHEREAS, Family health insurance premiums have risen
ninety-two per cent since 2000 while wages have stagnated; and |
WHEREAS, Nearly four hundred Ohioans lose their health
insurance every day; and |
WHEREAS, Eleven per cent of Ohioans are uninsured, with at
least sixty-four per cent of those uninsured individuals living in
families with one full-time worker; and |
WHEREAS, The public option will alleviate these problems by
giving Ohioans an option for affordable health insurance; now
therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the 128th General Assembly
of the state of Ohio hereby request that all of the members of the
128th General Assembly of the state of Ohio support the public
option as part of national health care reform; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives
transmit duly authenticated copies of this resolution to every
member of the 128th General Assembly of the state of Ohio and to
the news media of Ohio. |
